An anniversary, a birthday and a Valentine's Day

A quick post to fill in the last 3 weeks.

Rubén and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary last month. We had dinner at the Hard Rock Café, and it was incredibly disappointing and expensive. Not to worry, at least it's crossed off our "we should eat there one day" list.

The following weekend we went for a couples massage and facial. I imagined we looked a little something like this, minus the excessive amount of make-up.

My birthday came and went as well. I took myself to the amusement park here in Santiago, as you get a free entry on your birthday. I went around in circles, upside down  and back-to-front. I also ate a hamburger.

That evening, Rubén came home and with a massive chocolate brownie cake, with a layer of manjar in the centre and meringue all over the top. It was sickly sweet, and we both agreed that while it was nice, we won't be getting that one again. Just like our anniversary meal, we can stop salivating over it at the supermarket and cross it off our "we'll have to buy that one day" list.

Please turn your head to the right to see this in the correct position.

The birds, that were gifted to me a few weeks earlier, are still going strong. The now renamed Diego, and his rocking compadre Calypso are heavily reliant on each other and spend most of their days doing nothing in their cage.

The last event in the calendar of "Stacey-gets-a-whole-lot-of-things-at-once" was St Valentine's Day. Rubén thought he'd go all out this year and buy us an apartment off a plan. We now have the joy of paying the deposit for the next 18 months, and eventually moving in with a 20 year mortgage.

I start work tomorrow - wish me luck! I think I'd better stay away from the vocabulary resources in the supermarket though. E is for...?
